Max Bupa Health insurance, a joint venture between healthcare and life insurance company Max India Ltd, and UK-based healthcare provider Bupa, on Thursday launched their first health insurance product Heartbeat Health Insurance, marking its formal foray into the standalone health insurance business.
The insurance cover ranges from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.
Some of the features include maternity coverage, total coverage of new born baby up to the age of one year under family floater policy and single age band pricing.
"This is a totally different product than the other health insurances products provided by life insurance companies. It will give a new approach towards health insurance in India that will cover individuals and families without any age bar," Analjit Singh, chairman, Max India said.
"From a newborn to a person above sixty years all can avail this insurance, which is the innovative feature of this insurance (product). It provides cover for expenses including inpatient treatment, pre-and post-hospitalisation, maternity and childcare benefits with regular health checkups. Moreover, unlike the other long insurance products there will be year- on- year contracts with the customers. Providing quality will be our prime focus.
